Smugmug films has created an episode on the photographer Alan Schaller and I highly recommend you watch the film, and then visit Alan’s website.
I don’t often get really excited in discovering a new photographer, but I was blown away by Alan’s work.
While street photography has never been a strong interest of mine and I never had the nerve to photograph that way, doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate the work. Of course I loved the photographs of Cartier-Bresson and liked some images of other photographers, but here I see a consistent talented vision that manages not to be repetitive. A fine body of work. I for one would like to see it in a book, but Alan has a good clean website that makes viewing his fine work easy and effective.
